Feeling like we had officially arrived into the Arctic summer, we boarded the wonderful MS Cape Race for another 8 day expedition around Spitsbergen. We saw the blanket of snow fade from the low hilltops, giving the sense that Svalbard was wide open for some adventure! We rounded the Northwest corner of Spitsbergen to explore along the newly freed coastline. Given our small vessel, we were able to go places that many other ships cannot, giving us access to some very exclusive landing sites.
